Tag filtering is here
Don’t see what you don’t wanna seeIn our ongoing effort to help you all determine your own experience here on Tumblr, we’re launching one of our most requested features: the ability to filter out posts from your dashboard based on their tags.
Trying to avoid #Star Wars spoilers? Filter them out. Need a break from all the #holiday excitement this month? Sheesh, fine. Filter it out. It’s your dashboard. Groom it well.
Where do I set up a tag filter?
In your settings! You’ll find it in your general settings on mobile, under “Filtering.” On the web, you’ll find it in your account settings, also under “Filtering.”
That makes sense. Will I know when stuff is being filtered out?
Yup. Just like with Safe Mode, you’ll see a placeholder in your dashboard wherever something is being hidden. If you actually do want to see it, you can click/tap on it, and it’ll appear.
I follow some real nimrods. How can I stop seeing their posts?
Unfollow them! And if they’re really being a jerk, block them. And if they’re truly being hateful, report them.
Anything else I should know?
Sure. There are lots of other tools for making Tumblr the Tumblr you want to see. You can read about them all in our help center.

if the late late show cutting the joke from the show isn’t telling enough for some of yall i’m not sure what will be
the writers that james corden works with and james corden himself seriously need to just…….fucking do better. this is officially a pattern. the gross joke on aloto last summer where james and niall laughed about who out of the boys niall would trust alone in a room with his naked girlfriend (thereby implying that men can’t stop themselves from sexually assaulting a naked woman), the jokes about kendall during late late styles back in may, the weinstein jokes at that event a month or so ago, and now this……and this is just some of the stuff i’ve paid attention to because it related to the members of one direction or it was high profile and made the news, so i know there must be a ton more out there. hire some female writers and teach your male writers how to write jokes that are funny without being nasty or degrading - i know it’s possible because i’ve watched some other late night hosts do it. by putting harry on the show, they’re encouraging his largely young female fanbase to watch, and then they have him go out there with a joke about a literal child predator trying to get into his concerts to prey on his young female fans…. like am i supposed to just be like “lololol so cute and funny????” no thanks.
I mean can we put on some of the blame on Harry as well? If he’s such a woke feminist and has such a strong supportive team behind him, he was within his rights to vetoe the joke. This is the second time this has happened. Can we stop blaming everyone but Harry? He’s part of the problem. He’s a rich, white male with privileges who needs to be checked occasionally. Blame Ben Winston, blame male writers for the show, blame James Corden but Harry is complicit too. (And no this is not a dig at the OP, whose opinion I respect - just an addition to the conversation.)
